- 2 tbsp Herb Infused Oil Buy: Herb Infused Oil · ₺274.99
- 1 tsp salt Buy: Salt · ₺29.99
- 1/2 tsp black pepper Buy: Ground Black Pepper · ₺89.99
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 100ml vegetable broth (or water)
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Preparation
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the Filiz Penne Pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente, usually 8-10 minutes. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta cooks, finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- If using fresh tomatoes, dice them into small pieces. If using canned, drain them.
- Heat the Herb Infused Oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened and translucent.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes break down and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Pour in the Icim Chef Cooking Cream Half Fat and the vegetable broth (or water). Stir well and let it simmer for another 3-5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to become creamy.
- Add the cooked and drained penne pasta directly into the sauce. Toss gently to coat all the pasta evenly.
- If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash or two of the reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves if desired. Enjoy your delicious homemade dinner!
Pro Tips
- For an extra layer of flavor, you can roast your fresh tomatoes before adding them to the sauce. Just toss them with a little oil, salt, and pepper and roast at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes.
- Don't forget to reserve some pasta water! It's starchy and helps the sauce cling to the pasta beautifully, making it extra luscious.
