Preparation
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add 300g of Filiz Penne Pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining the pasta.
- While the pasta is cooking, finely chop one medium onion and mince 2 cloves of garlic.
- In a large skillet or deep pan, heat 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic to the pan and cook for another minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of Tat Tomato Paste. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, allowing the paste to deepen in color and flavor.
- Pour in 1/2 cup of Icim Chef Cooking Cream Half Fat and stir well to combine with the tomato mixture. Let it simmer gently for 2-3 minutes.
- Season the sauce with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of Dried Mint. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Add the drained Filiz Penne Pasta directly into the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat all the pasta evenly. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash or two of the reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Serve immediately, perhaps with a sprinkle of fresh parsley if you have some, or a little extra Dried Mint. Afiyet olsun (Enjoy your meal)!
- For an extra touch of richness, you can stir in a tablespoon of Lurpak Butter at the very end, just before serving.
Pro Tips
- Don't overcook your pasta! Al dente pasta holds its shape better and absorbs the sauce beautifully.
- Always reserve some pasta water. It's starchy and helps emulsify the sauce, making it cling better to the pasta and giving it a silky texture.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of cream to your preference. For a richer sauce, you can use a bit more or opt for Icim Chef Cream Whole Fat.
