Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak it in warm water for 15-20 minutes, then drain well.
  2. In a large pot or deep pan, heat the Biryağ Sunflower Oil Large over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced bell pepper and tomatoes. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables begin to soften and release their juices.
  4. Add the Kebsa Rice Seasonings and salt to the vegetables. Stir well and cook for 1 minute, allowing the spices to become fragrant.
  5. Add the drained basmati rice to the pot. Stir gently to coat the rice grains with the spices and vegetables.
  6. Pour in the hot water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot tightly, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
  7. Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and let it rest, covered, for 5-10 minutes. This allows the steam to finish cooking the rice and makes it fluffy.
  8. While the rice is resting, heat a separate non-stick pan with a little Biryağ Sunflower Oil Large over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and fry them to your desired doneness (sunny-side up, over easy, etc.).
  9. Fluff the Kebsa rice gently with a fork. Spoon generous portions onto serving plates.
  10. Top each serving of Kebsa with one or two freshly fried eggs.
  11. Garnish generously with fresh chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy this hearty and flavorful breakfast or brunch!
