- 50g mozzarella or white cheese, grated or sliced Buy: Obour Land Cheese · ₺109.99
- 1/4 medium tomato, diced Buy: Tat Tomato Paste Large · ₺88.99
- 1/4 small bell pepper, finely diced (optional)
- 1 tbsp Biryağ Sunflower Oil Buy: Biryağ Sunflower Oil Large · ₺299.99
- Pinch of salt Buy: Salt · ₺29.99
- Pinch of black pepper Buy: Ground Black Pepper · ₺89.99
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Preparation
- In a small bowl, whisk the eggs with a pinch of salt and black pepper until well combined.
- If using, finely dice the tomato and bell pepper. Grate or slice your cheese.
- Heat the Biryağ Sunflower Oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Pour the whisked eggs into the hot pan. Let them cook for about 30 seconds until the edges start to set.
- Gently place one piece of White Arabic Bread directly on top of the cooking eggs, pressing lightly so the egg adheres to the bread.
- After another 30-60 seconds, carefully flip the bread and egg together so the egg side is now facing up.
- Immediately sprinkle the cheese, diced tomato, and bell pepper (if using) over the cooked egg.
- Fold one half of the White Arabic Bread over the filling to create a sandwich.
- Continue to cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, pressing gently, until the cheese is melted and gooey, and the bread is golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer to a plate, garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired, and enjoy your quick late-night snack!
Pro Tips
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of dried oregano or red pepper flakes to the eggs.
- Don't overcrowd the pan; make one toast at a time for best results.
- Any quick-melting cheese like mozzarella, kashkaval, or even a salty white cheese like feta would work wonderfully here.
- For an extra touch of flavor, you can add a tiny pinch of red pepper flakes with the tomatoes.
- Don't overcook the eggs! Keep them soft and moist for the best texture.
- For an extra flavor boost, sprinkle a tiny bit of dried oregano or za'atar before baking.
- If you don't have an oven, you can make these in a pan! Just toast the bread lightly, then add cheese and tomato, cover, and cook on low heat until the cheese melts.
- Any type of melting cheese works great here, like mozzarella, kashkaval, or even a mix!
- For extra creaminess, you can add a tiny bit of Icim Chef Cooking Cream Half Fat if you have it on hand!
- Don't overcook the eggs; they should be soft and moist, not dry.
