Savory Cheese Scones Recipe

⏱ 25 mins Easy 6-8 scones

Ahlan, my dear! That's a wonderful question! To complement our lovely, spiced Adeni Tea for lunch, I have a delightful idea for you: Savory Cheese Scones! They are wonderfully soft, with a hint of cheesy goodness and a touch of fragrant dried mint, making them a perfect, comforting bite alongside your warm tea. They're easy to whip up and will fill your kitchen with a lovely aroma. Each scone (approx. 60g) would be around 250 calories, with about 8g protein, 25g carbohydrates, and 14g fat.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the Söke Flour, Baking Powder, Salt, and Dried Mint (if using).
  3. Add the cold, cubed Ulker Bizim Margarine to the flour mixture. Use your fingertips to rub the margarine into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded Teksüt Mozzarella Cheese.
  5. Gradually add the Icim Whole Milk, mixing with a fork until a soft, shaggy dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently bring it together a few times, just until it forms a cohesive ball. Do not knead excessively.
  7. Pat the dough into a round disc, about 1-inch thick. Using a round cutter (or a knife), cut out 6-8 scones.
  8. Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top and cooked through.
  10. Let cool slightly on a wire rack before serving warm.
