Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Arrange 4-5 slices of White Arabic Bread on a baking sheet and toast them until they're beautifully golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Once done, let them cool slightly, then break them into bite-sized pieces.
- In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of Sugar with 1.5 cups of water. Bring this mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer gently for about 5 minutes until you have a lovely light syrup. Take it off the heat.
- In a separate saucepan, whisk together 3 cups of Milk, 3 tablespoons of Corn Starch, and 1 teaspoon of Sugared Vanilla until everything is wonderfully smooth.
- Place the milk mixture over medium heat, stirring continuously, until it thickens into a rich, creamy pudding. Remove it from the heat and stir in 1/2 cup of Icim Chef Cooking Cream Half Fat for an extra touch of indulgence.
- Arrange the toasted bread pieces evenly at the bottom of your chosen serving dish. Pour the warm syrup over the bread, making sure every piece gets a good soak.
- Immediately pour the creamy milk pudding over the syrup-soaked bread. Spread it out evenly.
- Allow your delicious creation to cool down to room temperature, then pop it into the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until it's perfectly chilled and set.
- Just before serving, sprinkle a pinch of Ground Nutmeg over the top for a fragrant finish. Enjoy your delightful Lebanese-inspired snack!
Pro Tips
- For an extra aromatic touch, you can add a tiny splash of rose water to the milk pudding if you have it on hand.
- Make sure your bread is truly crispy after toasting; this helps it absorb the syrup without becoming soggy.
- This dessert tastes even better the next day, as the flavors have more time to meld together!
